Jill Van Hoogenstyn is a contemporary artist living in Los Angeles, California. From an early age, growing up in Connecticut, she focused on the art forms of photography and drawing. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in art from Pennsylvania State University, and a master's degree from California State University, Northridge with a major in photography and a minor in drawing.

Ms. Van Hoogenstyn's work explores and abstracts the physical environment through shapes, forms, and human figures. Her approach combines reality and subjectivity, proximity and distance, intimacy and alienation. With simplicity and naturalness, she examines the movement and atmosphere of the city.

Ms. Van Hoogenstyn has exhibited her work in Los Angeles, Oakland and New York City.
